IS IT TIME?
Signs your windows need new blinds
- Slats are cracked, warped, or yellowed from sun exposure
- Cords are frayed, tangled, or broken, making blinds difficult to raise
- Light bleeds around the edges because blinds do not fit the window frame
- Blinds rattle or swing every time you open a door or turn on a fan
- You cannot tilt slats fully closed for privacy at night
- Your blinds are more than 10 years old and look dated
- Children or pets are at risk from dangling cords
- You are paying higher energy bills because your windows have no insulation

FAQs
Pricing depends on the window size, material, and operating style you choose. A standard window with faux wood blinds starts lower than real hardwood or motorized options. We provide a free written quote during your in-home consultation so you see exact pricing before you commit. No deposits required to get a quote.
Most custom blinds take two to four weeks from order to installation. Once your blinds arrive, we typically schedule installation within a few days. The installation itself takes 15 to 30 minutes per window depending on the mount type and window size.
Inside mount fits inside the window frame for a clean, flush look. Outside mount covers the entire frame and sits on the wall or trim. We recommend inside mount when you have at least 1.5 inches of frame depth. For shallow frames, outside mount gives better light blockage and coverage.
Ready-made blinds come in standard sizes, which means they rarely fit your windows exactly. You end up with light gaps on the sides, uneven stacking at the top, or slats that are too long. Custom blinds are built to your window's exact measurements, so they fit flush, operate smoothly, and last significantly longer.
Yes. Every product we carry is available in a cordless version. Cordless blinds raise and lower with a push or pull on the bottom rail. No exposed cords means no strangulation risk for children or pets. We also carry motorized options that eliminate cords entirely.
We are authorized dealers for Hunter Douglas, Graber, Comfortex, and ColorLux. We also carry Norman Shutters for plantation shutter products. Each brand has different strengths in material quality, color range, and smart-home compatibility. We help you compare during your consultation.
Absolutely. Our shop-at-home service means we bring the full sample collection to you. You see fabric swatches, slat samples, color options, and hardware finishes in your own rooms under your own lighting. No guessing how something will look based on a store display.
We install everything ourselves. No subcontractors. The same team that measured your windows handles the installation. This means your blinds fit correctly the first time, and if anything needs adjusting on site, we handle it immediately.
Faux wood blinds and moisture-resistant roller shades hold up best in high-humidity spaces. Real wood warps when exposed to steam and moisture over time. We recommend composite materials with anti-microbial coatings for bathrooms and kitchens near the coast where salt air adds extra corrosion risk.
Yes. Properly fitted blinds reduce heat gain in summer by blocking direct sunlight and reduce heat loss in winter by adding an insulating layer at the window. Long Island homeowners with PSEG electric bills see measurable savings, especially on south and west-facing windows that take the most sun.
